Sustainability Management

We’re proud to be Reading Festival’s long-standing sustainability management partner. Collaborating with volunteers, charities and climate groups like Extinction Rebellion and Youth Climate Justice to meet the Festival’s sustainability goals year after year.

We implement and manage all areas of the Festival’s sustainability plan, including:

  • Reviewing sustainability goals and devising tactics
  • Advance site work, coordinating resources, supplies and volunteers
  • Adapting and supporting bars and onsite traders to meet sustainability targets
  • Developing and optimising back-of-house waste management and recycling systems
  • Calculating carbon emissions of menu items across the entire festival

Our approach to sustainability management is to set realistic goals and strive for continued and sustained improvement. We’re committed to tackling all areas of sustainability management across the festival and don’t shy away from particularly problematic areas like waste management and recycling. By making achievable but impactful changes to the Festival each year, we can help achieve and sustain the long-term sustainability vision.

Supported by fantastic volunteers, universities, waste management contractors and certifying bodies like Julie’s Bicycle we’ve been able to ensure Reading Festival’s sustainability strategy is delivered each year.

We’re deeply passionate about our sustainability management work with Reading Festival and continue to empower volunteers, vendors, bars and traders with the knowledge and tools to adapt, improve and build on year after year.

“We’re on a mission to create something deeper and bigger than just great events. We take our environmental responsibilities seriously and are determined to make a difference within the events industry.”

- Lily Robins

Co-Founder, Always Live

“Always Live are an absolute asset to the club during concerts and other events at the Etihad Stadium.

They came into the organisation midway through the project and within a matter of days had built the required relationships, both internally & externally, and in challenging environments, to centrally manage the project to completion and success.”
